Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location is the fifth installment in the Five Nights at Freddy's game franchise and moves the action of the original game to a brand new location. The original game and later editions took place inside a pizza place that had animatronic animals on display. You played as a security guard trying to survive the night as those animals came to life and came after you.

This newer edition lets you play as Mike who just got a new job working for an entertainment company that rents animatronic animals for parties and other events. The company recently acquired a new group of animatronics that conveniently came from the pizza restaurant featured in the first game. Mike must step up to the plate and take care of those animatronic animals before they can attack.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location is much darker in tone and has a more unsettling environment than previous editions. Some younger players may find the game too dark to play. It also increases the violence. Instead of just shining a light to scare away those animals, the artificial intelligence character in the game tells you from the very beginning that you should electrocute each one you encounter. This settles the animals down and makes them more docile during the day.

The game introduces a new character called Circus Baby, which is an animatronic female clown. Circus Baby not only talks to you every night but also talks to the daughter of the company's owner. She will give you instructions that completely go against the AI character that supposedly helps you. Circus Baby also gives you instructions that will better help you survive each level, but you need to decide which voice to listen to based on which one will best help you.

As the game unfolds, you learn that the animatronics actually want to escape from the rental company and survive in the real world. You also learn that they need a human helper to make their escape. The game leaves it up to you to decide whether to help those characters or listen to your boss and survive your first week on the job. It comes with both an official ending and an alternative ending.

You can unlock different features for playing on the hardest difficulty level. If you finish each of the Custom Night modes of play on that hardest setting, the game will reward you with several cut scenes. The developers verified that those scenes are part of franchise canon, which means that the scenes may have an impact or influence on future titles. These scenes feature one of the main villains that you encounter in the rental warehouse.

Golden Freddy is the hardest level, and finishing the game on this setting will unlock a completely different scene. This scene features images from the third edition of the game and includes a simple voice over from Mike that will give you an idea of what to expect in the next installment of the franchise.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location brings in an entirely new element that focuses more on objectives and less on the traditional survival elements found in other games. The very first night comes with a series of objectives that will require you move between rooms in the warehouse and complete different challenges. Those challenges increase in difficulty as each night passes.

One night gives you the task of finding your way through a dark room and locating a circuit breaker on the other side. You need to get there and reset the breaker before animatronics realize you're there and attack. Another night features a unique challenge that puts you inside an animatronic suit of your own. Smaller animatronic characters will jump on you all night to keep you from reaching the spring locks inside the suit. You need to find a way to fight those characters off while keeping the suit wound until the next morning.

No matter which difficulty setting you select, playing through the game will unlock a mini game. This 8-bit game lets you play as Circus Baby herself. You must pass out cupcakes to a certain number of little kids, and then find a special young girl and reward her with an ice cream cone. If you finish this game, you'll unlock a game that takes you back to the fifth night and lets you play that level in a new way.

This secret or hidden level recreates the original gameplay from Five Nights at Freddy's. The game sends you into a security room and puts you in the role of a security guard. You need to watch the live feeds in the room to monitor the location of an animatronic character outside. Closing electronic doors and monitoring the feeds helps you stay safe throughout the night. Each time you use any of those features though, you'll use a small amount of power. You need to survive the night without running out of power. Playing the entire game will unlock achievements like a short making of video, exclusive pictures, and even diagrams of popular animatronic characters.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location offers a twist on the classic game that you already love.
